Join this tour and experience the best activities all in one day. One of the most popular things to do in Thailand is to go on an elephant ride. In Chiang Mai, there’s an elephant camp where you can take a ride on these amazing gentle giants and watch them perform talented feats during a show. The tour also includes bamboo rafting and riding on a traditional ox-drawn cart, as well as visits to a butterfly and orchid farm and local Long Neck Karen hill tribe village.

About the Long Neck Hill Tribe Village and Elephant Camp Tour

Your day starts off with an easy ride down the Mae Taeng River on a traditional bamboo raft. Take in the surrounding sights during this peaceful journey through the jungle and then visit a nearby Long Neck Karen hill tribe village. Here you will see firsthand the women who wear the brass rings that create the illusion of an elongated neck.
Next it’s time to see the elephants! Since elephants love water, watch as the mahouts (elephant trainers) lead their gentle giants down to the river for a refreshing bath before the day’s activities. It’s the perfect opportunity to take photos while the elephants play in the water! Afterwards, the elephants will go to the camp’s riverside showground and put on a performance that includes playing football, performing tricks, and painting colorful pictures.

Afterwards, have a delicious Thai lunch at a riverside restaurant followed by an elephant ride down a natural trail to a local Lisu hill tribe village handicraft center. Return to camp via an oxcart ride through the jungle. Your final stop will be at an exotic butterfly and orchid farm before heading back to Chiang Mai.
