What we’ll do

Day 1: Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai

I will pick you up from your hotel or guesthouse in an air-conditioned minivan and then drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. In the afternoon, you will visit temples and a park, hike to a waterfall, and visit Singha Park in a tea plantation. Once the sun sets, explore a local night market.

  • Hot Water Springs: Enjoy a short coffee break at a natural sulfur spring roughly halfway between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
  • White Temple: The White Temple is home to an incredible array of artwork and architecture. It’s one of Thailand’s most famous temples, and it’s easy to recognize by its sparkling white exterior.
  • Khun Korn Waterfall : Follow a scenic jungle trail that leads you through banana trees, giant bamboo and other beautiful plants to the waterfalls. The trail climbs about 1400 meters or 1.4 kilometers, making for a pleasant round trip of about 3 kilometers. Afterwards, you can refresh yourself in the misty spray of the majestic waterfall, which also has a natural swimming pool.
  • Singha Park: Once a farm that grew barley, Singha Park is now home to an Oolong tea plantation, orchards, and a small petting zoo. Ride around on a bike and catch the sunset.
  • Chiang Rai Night Market: Chiang Rai City hosts a walking street market every night near the town square. Explore the beautiful handicrafts and artworks make by local Thai vendors and sample the delicious street food.

Overnight in Chiang Rai

Day 2 : Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai

The second day of this private tour will take you to the eerie wonders of the Black House and then the infamous overlook point of the Golden Triangle. Your day will conclude with a visit to the Buddhist Blue Temple before returning to your hotel or airport in Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai.

  • Black House: This strange but wondrous art complex contains several buildings featuring displays of animal pelts and bones, ominous sculptures, and torture devices.
  • Golden Triangle: This viewpoint overlooks three countries (Thailand, Myanmar, Laos) and two rivers (Mekong and Ruak) that were the hub of the infamous opium trade decades ago.
  • Mae Sai is known for its bustling border market, located on the border between Thailand and Myanmar. The market offers a wide range of goods, from handicrafts and clothing to electronics, souvenirs and local products. It’s a lively place to explore, store and immerse yourself in the local culture. Adjacent to the market is Wat Phra That Doi Wao, a serene Buddhist temple perched on a hill. Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding area while basking in the tranquility of the temple. Moreover, Mae Sai is the northernmost point of Thailand, which adds an extra charm to this remarkable destination.
  • Blue Temple: As its name suggests, the Blue Temple is a gorgeous royal blue Buddhist temple with delicate carvings and statues accented with gold.
