Mountain Biking in Chiang Mai

Buy Now

Take an all day mountain biking trip into the beautiful mountains around Chiang Mai. Chiang Mai offers breathtaking mountain scenery, along with easy access to the mountain trails. We offer three levels of mountain biking fun: Easy, Intermediate and Advanced. If you’re a beginner, an easy mountain biking tour is the one for you. For our more advanced riders, take a challenging bike ride tour. We’ll pick you up from your accommodations and take you the beginning of the biking trail so you can begin your full day of biking adventure.

You’ll have access to full-suspension mountain bikes, along with all of the necessary safety gear, and the expertise of mountain biking guides who have first-hand knowledge of the many trails in the National Parks and forest. You and your tour guide can go over the details of the ride prior to the start of your adventure. Each biking tour is made with the riding abilities of every level in mind, so you will make a great memory no matter which level you choose.

Schedule

In the morning, we’ll pick you up from your accommodation and take you the bike shop to choose your bike. After, we transport you and the bike to the trail head. Every level has a different type of bike route. Sometime during your biking experience, we’ll break for a delicious Thai lunch. After your tour, we will meet you at the bottom of the mountain and transport you back to the city.

  • Knee and elbow pads are optional but offer further protection
  • If available, mountain biking shoes provide additional arch support while the stiff sole makes for easier energy transfer
  • Do not wear sandals or slippers for this tour. Wear good walking shoes with a non-slip sole such as tennis, hiking, or running shoes.
  • Eyewear is important to keep bugs and debris away from your eyes. Clear glasses are best in forest riding conditions, sunglasses may be too dark to make out the exact contour of the ground.
  • A light raincoat for wet and cooler conditions in Thailand is needed during the rainy season for longer trips.
  • A small pack to hold all your belongings. No messenger bags.

Personal Fitness:

For this outing, you should be reasonably fit, and comfortable biking in regular conditions before trying OFF Road/mountain biking. Try to abstain from alcohol the night before and carbo-load (eat lots of carbs for quick energy) before the biking trip.

Food and Drink, First Aid:

  • Drink a little extra water before the ride; bring at least 1 liter water for 3 hrs and 2 liters or more for 6 hrs in a daypack.
  • A high energy snack (nuts, chocolate, granola bar ) is a good idea, even for short trips. The more energy you have, the more control you have.
  • First Aid Kit should hold some tape, gauze, bandages and anti bacterial powder. (The trip leader should have one for the whole group.)
