Overview

Befriend an elephant during this full day trip to Baanchang Elephant Park. At this ride-free sanctuary, take a long walk with Thailand’s most magnificent animal and meet baby elephants! You’ll have the chance to feed, playing with, and bathe the elephants in their natural jungle home, too.

• 8:30 AM to 9 AM : Meet in your hotel lobby
• 9 AM: Drive to Baan Chang Elephant Park. Dress in traditional clothes and prepare fruits for the elephants.
  Morning activities: Close interaction with the elephants – feeding, roaming and playing.
• 12 PM: Lunch.
• 1 PM: Prepare and cook sticky rice with herbs for the elephants. Learn about elephant health care and behavior.
• 2 PM: Spend more time petting and feeding the elephants.
  • Take them to a pond for a bath.
  • Tea and coffee break.
  • Visit the baby elephants in the Nursery Zone and play with them.
• 3 PM : Depart from Baanchang Elephant Park
• 4 PM : Return to your accommodation

About Full-Day Elephant Day Care Baan Chang Elephant Park Tour

The Baanchang Elephant Park is dedicated to providing a safe home for elephants that improves their quality of life and well-being. At this park, these magnificent animals are able to freely roam and there is absolutely no riding. This encourages a physically and mentally healthy lifestyle, just as nature intended.

The full-day elephant day care begins with a quiet drive into the countryside of northern Thailand. You’ll visit Baanchang Elephant Park, where you’ll meet your English-speaking guide and receive an elephant trainer outfit (mahout) to wear. Afterwards, you will take a 30-minute walk through the jungle and learn more about the elephants’ natural behavior and everyday life. Finally, you will get to know the elephants and gain their trust by feeding them delicious tropical fruits.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy your own lunch of local Thai food and then get ready to cook sticky rice and prepare herbs for the elephants – a task that is both fun and educational. You will have the opportunity to learn about elephant health care, understand their behavior and eventually feed them the herbs and spend more time with the elephants as they roam freely doing what they love to do: Throwing dirt on their backs, scratching themselves and running around looking for food. Then walk with the elephants to a clean water pond and join them company as they splash and cool off in the refreshing water. This is a great time to take pictures!

The tour concludes with a visit to the Nursery Zone. There you’ll see the newest members of the herd: adorable baby elephants. Afterward, relax in an air-conditioned minivan as you ride back to your hotel in Chiang Mai City thinking about your once-in-a-lifetime trip to see Thailand’s elephants.
