Bangkok Weather

Bangkok, like much of the country of Thailand, is a tropical climate with both and wet and dry weather. The climate is heavily influenced by the South Asian monsoon system, which helps determine the seasons. Bangkok seasons are: hot, rainy, and cool. Though even during the “cool” season, the area is always warm compared to other parts of the globe. During mid May, the southwest monsoon begins to cause the rainy season which lasts until October. September is the wettest month – if you are traveling during the rainy season, expect quick and heavy storms almost every afternoon. Proper rain gear and clothing is a must. After the rainy season, the northeast monsoon brings cooler and dryer weather until February. After this period comes the hot season, which is characterized by higher temperatures but also the dry weather – though you may find yourself caught in the occasional storm.
